Bourne Street Holiday Club

Cardboard towers at Bourne Street Holiday Club

We organised a week long holiday club in the summer holidays for Bourne Street Church in the centre of Hull.

Our theme was: the House of our Life.

We talked with young people from the church and from a nearby housing estate, where people from many different ethnic minorities live, who participated. We built houses in various ways: with cardboard boxes, with biscuits, we made one out of shoe boxes to take home. We thought about the House of our Life, building on the foundation of God and Jesus and putting the important bricks of Trust and Love in place all around in order to be able to build up the rest of the house.

On the Monday we started with 21 children and young people and ended up with 28 children on the last day. The children enjoyed the theme, doing craft activities and drumming sessions. The last afternoon was just about having fun with a bouncy castle and some games to play.

We had a great time!!!
